A Christmas story of pure kindness.

I want to share a little Christmas story with you. As you know, we just moved to Wisconsin. Our new home has a very long driveway. Every Thursday, our garbage comes and somehow our garbage can ends up back by our garage. We thought it was odd that the garbage company would take the time to bring our cans back up but since we just moved here we weren't really sure. This morning, I woke up and decided I was going to catch the garbage Santa once and for all! Who was bringing our garbage cans to us? He must be quiet because my dogs have never barked at him. I bundled up Mason and a small gift bag and set out down our driveway. We waited for about 15 minutes but didn't see anyone. We were getting cold so we headed back up the driveway. I was feeling discouraged, maybe that's the thing about Santa. Some things are just better left unknown. Or maybe something happened to this mysterious person and wasn't coming today? As soon as I got back inside, I see a little old man, not much taller than my garbage can coming up my driveway with my garbage can! I quickly rushed outside with my gift bag to thank him! He was a little taken back and said he does it every Thursday. I laughed and said I know and had been trying to catch him! He downplayed his generosity and said that he does all of the houses in the area every Thursday morning and just does it for exercise. I told him Merry Christmas and as he headed back down my driveway I saw him take a peek into the gift bag. It’s in those indescribable moments that something wonderful happens. Our hearts are filled with a kind of love and joy that only a stranger can bring.

And for now,

Xoxo
