I want to tell you a true story that I found very inspirational. One, that is good enough to be a book. But because I do not have enough patience or adjectives, I will just blog about it.

It’s a story about a man and his dog. The man is shorter, thin, and is usually seen in everyday clothes, nothing special. The dog is some kind of large breed mix with extremely fluffy golden fur; almost lion-like. The dog went to the dog park one day but did not get along with another dog that was there. Hard to believe because this dog just looks like a giant teddy bear walking around. However, now, everyday, the man walks the dog around town. But it is not just a casual walk. He lets the dog choose where they go. Sometimes they walk to the farm with the cattle because the dog enjoys the cows. Sometimes, they walk to the dog park because the dog enjoys watching the other dogs running and playing from afar. But wherever they go, they walk. Miles upon miles have been put on those shoes, on those paws. Rain or shine, day or night, they are out there walking. I know this because I see them. One day I will see them around my neighborhood and then another day I will see them miles away from my neighborhood. Every time I see him and his dog I smile. Because that truly takes dedication and love. What a testament of someone who is willing to devote his life to being with his dog. In the hard times, when it is pouring rain, the man wears a jacket and continues to walk. I look at this story as a reminder that dogs are a very special part of our lives. They hold a place in our heart that can only be filled by their little paws.

When Goldy passes away, the man will be very lonely. But until then, they walk.

And for now,

Xoxo
