Halloween can be a fun time to dress up for one night and be whoever we want to be. There are so many different costumes now that involve their pets. These can be especially fun if your dog is well behaved or if you are headed off to a house party. When I was in college, I dressed up as Legally Blonde with my Chihuahua. A couple years ago I dressed up as little red riding hood and took a picture next to my Husky. There are also so many costumes that you can dress your pup in. I have a little box dedicated to costumes for my dogs. One word of advice though, if you dog does not enjoy it, don’t torture them. Just take the quick picture and take it off them. Bean used to not mind wearing costumes, but now that she is getting older she is becoming less thrilled by the idea. Trooper, however does not care. He isn’t a fan of dressing up, but he will let me do it to get a funny picture. And for him, as long as there are treats, he is on board.
Halloween night, just like the 4th of July, in theory can be a lot of fun. However, for dog owners this may not always be the case. As the sun goes down, strangers are coming up to your door, ringing the doorbell, and you have to open the door. This, is a dog’s nightmare. If your dog does not do well in this type of situation, it is maybe best to leave your front step light off that night. Otherwise, if they are kind of okay with it, then you could maybe keep them in a secluded area. Worse case scenario, there are several doggy daycares or even boarding facilities that you could take your pup to for the evening. What kind of Halloween fun are you going to do with your pup this year?

And for now,
