So I have always been a bit of a crazy dreamer. No, I mean like literally dreaming. Even as a small child, I would sleep walk and sleep talk. I remember several times sleep walking into my sister’s bedroom and just standing over her. Wow, how creepy would that be to wake up to?? But, she always knew the right thing to do and would always just guide me back to my bedroom. I once ran outside, ran around the house and was crying because I couldn’t find my parents. Now looking back it’s kind of funny, but as a parent I feel like knowing your child sleep walks would be worrisome. In high school, I once took all the pictures in my bedroom and hung them back up upside down. I remember waking up the next morning, looking around at all the upside down pictures and it was almost like a horror movie. I had no idea what was going on. One of the most embarrassing moments in high school was when I slept texted someone. What? How is that even possible? I have no idea, I just know I woke up the next morning and saw on my phone that I had sent a text. It said, “My Grandma just threw a bale of hay. Wow, she’s good.” And, of course, I sent that to a boy I liked. (insert palm to face emoji here) For those of you that attended our wedding and remember the maid of honor speech (nobody remembers those stupid speeches), my sister was so kind to inform everyone of my sleep talking and sleep walking habits in efforts to warn my future husband. Well, it was a warning alright but the activities never ceased. In just our first year of marriage I once woke up folding laundry. We didn’t live in the nicest town and we had an axe in our bedroom as self defense. Needless to say, Brock took the axe out of our bedroom. Since then, I will usually sleep turn on the light, or sleep talk, etc. Brock has kind of gotten used to it but is still pretty confused sometimes. I had a friend tell me that her dreams got real weird when she was pregnant but I didn’t think my dreams could get any crazier. Well, I was wrong. Since being pregnant, I have dreamt constantly about food, which I never did before. One time I had a dream about avocados and the worst part about it was that I woke up and just really wanted guacamole. Just a few nights ago, I was sleep “blowing my nose” trying to get “worms out.” Brock thought that was absolutely hilarious and won’t stop making fun of me for that. Last night, I had a dream that I was meeting up in a grocery store parking lot with an old friend who lived in a moldy, busted camper van with a taxidermy Alpaca. In that same night, I had a dream about my ex boyfriend from high school’s mom and I was running away from her. I woke up sweating. Which, really isn’t too far off because if I saw her today, I’d probably still run away from her. I bought a book on dreams and the science behind them. I think I will start reading that.
And for now,
Xoxo
