More Pallet Talk.

Sorry, I’ve been so busy with the pallet craze. Let me fill you in. So because where I live I have access to all these pallets; local vendors selling full pallets of merchandise. I decided to give it a go. I had researched and watched one of the people who sell for quite some time before buying. I wanted to make sure I understood the concept. My main mission for reselling items is because life is too expensive. I just feel like we should not have to sacrifice our wants with our needs. We should be able to have both. I started out with Target pallets. The items were great, mostly “wants” I would classify them as. I tried a couple Amazon ones but they weren’t exactly what I was looking for. A lot of the Amazon stuff comes missing hardware, opened, or even non working. Amazon pallets are mostly returns so that’s more of a gamble. At least, with Target, I would say most of it is brand new items. I was very leery of even starting this because I felt like the market was already saturated. But, I quickly realized, even though there may be a lot of people/businesses out there, they are all different. Some sell this, some sell that. There’s just a TON of products floating around. Also, because this is so easily accessible to people, most people shop this way constantly. They just rotate picking up from all of us and that’s the way they get most of their items. I have acquired quite the following and regular customers that pick up once a week or more. Many businesses or people who decide to start selling are not legal. I don’t know how you feel about the government, but I like to follow the rules so I became legal right away. Because of that, I have access to other forms of inventory. There are some reputable websites online that sell wholesale, which is where you order 10 of this, 12 of that kind of thing. There are also websites that sell whole pallets. You really need to do your research because there are a lot of scams out there. Don’t just put your information into any site and hope for the best. I started selling pretty hot and fast. My items were flying out the door at a rapid pace. I really just wanted this to be a side thing for me while I stayed home with Mason. It quickly turned into a full time job. It is a massive hustle, no joke. Taking the time to go physically get the pallets, load them into the vehicle, drive them back, unload them, take them all downstairs, organize the inventory, put it in the computer to post it, put it all away. Oh, and then when people order, pick their order, take it down to the pick up location which is at the end of my driveway, and the process starts all over again. I also track every piece of inventory back to its original pallet so I can see which pallets make money and how much etc. So imagine if one person buys 10 things and I have 10 sales in a day…..that’s 100 items out my door and then 100 items that I need to track back to pallets. Um wow. Mind blowing is right. I also was doing vendor fairs but that became too demanding; all the set up and tear down. I have been doing this for a year now. That is actually a long time for pallet people. Most people don’t survive because of the high level stress and demand they burn out. I have learned so much about liquidation and wholesale. I would say I am very well educated in that realm. I have also learned a lot about myself through this, but that’s a thought for another day.

And for now,

Xoxo
