Well, as most of you saw, it is true. I had a baby. I would say I am still in shock but considering what I went through, the shock of it has come and gone. It was Tuesday 4/19 when I had a doctor appointment. At this point I was just over it and wanted that baby to come. My doctor checked me and I was at a 2. Nothing crazy. She passively told me that she was working on Friday and maybe she would see me. I thought she was crazy. Well, on that Friday, 4/23 at 4:30am I was having some things happen. I will spare you the details but I wasn’t really sure what it was. I texted my mother in law and said that I just didn’t think it would stop and she replied with “I agree.” She hopped in her car and started driving her 5 hour trip. I had placed a grocery order and it was scheduled to be picked up at 9:30am. It was now 7am and I knew we were not going to make that order. I called and said….”um, I was just wondering if you could have my order done any sooner...I think I am going into labor and need to go to the hospital.” The grocery lady was like oh my gosh yes I can have it done in 10 minutes. I hopped in the shower and Brock went to pick up the groceries. We quickly threw the cold stuff in the fridge and took off for the hospital. We got there and things were progressing nicely so by 10am I had an epidural. Throughout the day I continued to progress but mostly only with back labor. Oh my, that was painful. By 4:30pm everything kind of halted. They checked me again but it wasn’t enough. They said that if I didn’t continue to progress by 6pm I would need a C section. At this point it had been almost 12 hours of active back labor and the last thing I wanted was a C section. I don’t know why, but I saw it as failure. I had just worked so long in labor for nothing. Through the next couple hours I progressed very minimal but enough where they stayed hopeful. So hopeful that they decided to even have me push. I pushed like 3 times and they said something just wasn’t right. Finally at 1 in the morning, the doctor came in and sat down next to me. She said that at this point a C section was the only solution to ensure the safety for everyone. After 19 hours of intense labor, I decided that I was done. So they got me ready and rolled me away.

And for now,

Xoxo
