The Difference Between Dogs and Babies.

What is the difference between a dog and a baby? Well some of you may have kids, and some of you may have dogs. And, well, if you’re lucky (or crazy) maybe you have both. I obviously only have dogs so this may not be 100% accurate. However, I have seen a few babies and made the following observations.
Babies are 100% dependent on you. And so are dogs.
You have to take your baby to the doctor. And you have to take your dog to the vet.
Babies sleep a lot during the day. So do dogs.
Babies can’t talk about their feelings or what they need. They just cry. Same with dogs.
If you work a full time job, your baby has to go to daycare. And depending on the dog, your dog might have to go too.
In the first year of baby’s life, you need to entertain them and give them proper stimulation. Dogs need to be entertained/played with too.
Babies require a structured routine. So do dogs.
Babies poop in diapers. Dogs poop on the floor.
Babies smell like sour milk. Dogs smell like Fritos.
Dogs shed. And babies? Yeah, babies win in that department.
You can (have to) take your children with you. With dogs, you have to (or get to) leave them at home.
Now that is just a comparison of babies and dogs. If you’re talking about kids in general vs dogs, oh boy, that’s a whole different topic.
Dogs don’t talk. Children never stop talking.
You usually only have to tell a dog once to knock it off. Children, not so much.
The majority of the time, children require adult supervision. And so do dogs.
As soon as you are unwrapping a candy bar, your dogs come running. So do your children.
When out in public, dogs need to be kept on a leash. And sometimes children do too.
If you go on vacation you have to pay to have your dogs boarded. If you are traveling with your children, you have to pay for those darn buggers everywhere you go. (At that point, you might just rather pay the $300 to have them boarded too)
Either way, we are parents. We take care of the ones that we love; whether they drool all over you or.....well, they drool all over you.
And for now,
Xoxo
